St Winefride's, Well Street, Holywell at 11.30am on Sunday 27th January 2019.
We welcome Canon Poucin de Wouilt ICKSP of New Brighton as Guest Celebrant.
We must show our faith in His Divinity by never despising anyone, however lowly, for our God is a God of Mercy; again, as the Epistle warns, never to render evil for evil, since He is the God of Justice, who will avenge all injustice.
Then will He "stretch forth the right hand" (Prayer) of His Divinity to heal our souls from the leprosy and paralysis of sin (Secret). The Gospel finally speaks of the eternal banquet where humanity will feed on Divinity; out-side of which, non-believers in His Divinity will suffer eternal night.
The 27th January is the Feast of St. John Chrysostom E. C. D., one of the Four Great Doctors of the Eastern Church, Archbishop of Constantinople, whose body now lies in the Vatican, and who passed away in 407. Famous as an orator, he was honoured with the name Chrysostom, meaning golden-mouthed. He is not commemorated according to the 1962 Missal but it may nonetheless be a prompt to read some of his works and gain wisdom of the Saint.
